About this estimator
Uncle Pong's Thailand Holiday Estimator is a free, browser-based tool that helps you build a realistic budget for a trip to Thailand — covering airfare, entry essentials, insurance, accommodation, food, transport, sundries, and going out, in your own currency alongside Thai baht.
Why we built it
Plenty of trips to Thailand go sideways not because of one big expense, but because of a hundred small ones nobody planned for: the airport transfer, the daily ride-hailing, the rounds, the late-night taxis. We wanted a tool that gives you an honest number up front — friendly, practical, and judgment-free — so the only surprises on your holiday are the good kind.
How it works
You answer a short series of questions and adjust the sliders. The estimator applies research-based price ranges and a destination adjustment (Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, or multiple cities), then shows a live total and a category breakdown you can export or save. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to us.
About the numbers
Default figures are drawn from general research compiled in mid-2026 and are intended as planning ballparks, not quotations. Prices in Thailand shift with season, location, demand, and exchange rates, so always confirm current costs and entry requirements before you travel. See our Terms & Disclaimer for the full picture.
Who's behind it
The Service is operated by Genext Information Systems. "Uncle Pong" — the cheery fellow pictured here — is a fictional, good-natured host persona, your experienced Thai uncle, created to make budgeting a bit more fun. We are independent and not affiliated with any government body, airline, hotel, or venue.
